MPC 500 - Pads mis-triggering samples

I recently purchased a used MPC 500 from the original owner. The unit is in great shape and all pads are firm and responsive. However, every once in a while when I hit a pad it will instead trigger a sample assigned to an adjacent pad.

I ignored the issue initially when I was using the MPC for sequencing. It has since become a problem, because I now use the unit to trigger samples during live performances.

I don’t know if the issue is with the pads, sensors or something more complicated. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

Yeah, it has happened to me a few times. I like creating tracks on one sequence and it screwed me around to recreate the track every time another pad was triggered. Even with the pads from MPC-stuff.com the problem happens from time to time.

It seems that when a pad is pressed the rubber contacts the other sensors to trigger unwanted samples.

I want to get deep with this machine, but I should've gotten a 1000.

I had a similar problem with my 500. It will be the sensor for sure.
