I asked this before but I think my post was moderated/deleted?*shrugs*

I want my cake and I want to eat it to.Meaning I understand how to set my sequence loop/bars.However I want the sequencer to record my whole perfomance(mutes in and out)THEN I want the sequencer to act like a tape recorder MEANING if I`m performing a 4 minute beat, when I press PLAY I want my WHOLE performance to playback NOT LOOP according to the bars set.

This is my first MPC so excuse my ignorance.I`ve been using that SU700 for over a decade and the way the sequncer acts on that machine is kinda different.

Let me say this another way.CAN I make INDIVIDUAL PADS loop according to bars set and still be free to perform WITHOUT SONG MODE??Or am I stuck according to bars set?I hope I`m explaining myself clearly.Sorry for the novel.Peace

Let me explain a little more how I`m used to working. The SU700 sequencer runs endlessly meaning from 1-999 then back to 1.On the SU700 they have dedicated pads that loops phrases(which YOU set how many bars FOR THOSE PADS).Then you have pads made for tapping out patterns. Then you have "single shot"pads that you control how many times they trigger in any given sequence.

I need the 500 to loop CERTAIN pads while I can work freely with other pads.I need the sequencer to run freely YET loop CERTAIN ELEMNTS of the sequence.

In other words is there a LOOP FUNCTION to individual pads???Man,I feel stupid typing this but I`m tryna grasp the concept. This is the one thing holding me back.

One solution is to set the number of bars for the duration of the WHOLE BEAT then overdub, overdub, overdub. But imagine doing that over and over and over.Maybe I`m thinking too much into it.Maybe it`s the weed.*shrugs*
