Trying control the midi notes in the MPC from the keyboard, but after a few seconds of playing, some of the notes stick and continue playing. I'm having the same problem with controlling a multisample i created in the mpc and also sounds within kontakt 4. Tried two different MIDI cables and I'm still having the same problem.

Please any Ideas from you all would help, thanks.

So you're having the same problem with both the MPC and kontakt? If so, it would seem to be a problem with your keyboard (since you've ruled out it being a cable issue).

Which keyboard are you using?

M-audio Oxygen88 I have no problem controlling kontakt with the keyboard but I would like to sequence the the sounds in the MPC. I have a MIDI to USB cable connected between the 500 and the Computer. The MPC triggers the samples fine while pressing its pads. But using the keyboards MIDI out to control the 500 is what sets the notes off sometimes in rhythmic patterns while also triggering notes that aren't of the corresponding key.

My problem controlling a multi sampled synth from within the MPC is similar, while triggering the notes with the keyboard, but in this case it will play out a note even when the key is unpressed.

Does the Ox have dedicated MIDI or its just USB? I would connect MIDI to MIDI if it does, there's always issues with those USB to MIDI plugs, usually works for the new stuff. Also, look inside Kontakt's MIDI menu and work it in there.

Other than that, I don't and never used MIDI, I'm like Kid Capri and the machines.

Well there's your problem, you got a MIDI loop, go to MIDI menu on the 500 and change the MIDI OUT to SOFT THRU.

Can you try isolating the oxygen and MPC500 from the computer? In other words, connect the oxygen and MPC500 by midi, but don't connect either one to the computer. Now does triggering the MPC500 samples from the keyboard work correctly?

What happens if you try to play sounds in kontakt with the keyboard connected through the MPC500? This will give you an idea if the 500 is able to pass good data through or if it's also mangling it. If the latter, then maybe there is some issue with the MIDI I/O.
