Whats good everybody
Wanted to introduce myself to the members of this forum. I'm an up & coming producer/artist along with my blood brother(s). I first picked up an MPC 2000XL along with a classic triton back in 2000. At that time I was just an artist and a big fan of music. I learned to create music by ear and eventually began to grasp it enough to put my brother on as far as how to use the mpc 2000xl and Triton together.
At that time lets just say I had a life changing experience & throughout this road bump I had my music equipment "confiscated". Years later we ended up grabbing the Tritons again. I guess you can say we've been improvising and using what we have. We've created a lot of music since then and been just been grinding. Eventually we ended finishing up a conceptual mixtape (all original music) right before 1 of my brothers/member of the group was murdered.. This was what we created with just a Triton

I'm not promoting the mixtape heavy as google will show you (keeping low key at 1 place til I get my set up right. I'm sure you guys know how tough it is out here pushing ya music along with a million others) but I want to have it available for a few heads I know to hear or fam. I haven't done much music since then, (lost another brother after) and almost gave up.
So recently I came across this mpc 500. I was feeling the mpc 500 because it was small, could take it with you and just the way I remember the sequencer swings better then my sequencer on the Triton. So I ordered 1 off ebay 128 RAM, some Dre Drums on deck with 8 G card. Being I hadn't used this in over a decade I felt like I wasn't going to get it & wasn't inspired for the obvious
I came to this forum and I'll be honest. I hadn't spent more then an 1 hr with this mpc 500 since I had it. However because of this forum (I'll be able to use the thank you button now that my acct is active) & some youtube videos I got the fundamentals down and I'm BACK IN BUSINESS only after a few wks of having it. I needed this and glad I jumped on this. It inspired me. I remember having to read the manual word for word when I copped that 2000xl and the difference in how resourceful the net is now compared to then is nutz.
I just wanted shout the members of the forum out for having it period. I def. have questions, (coming right up) but I'm a good place right now and glad I purchased it. My bad on the novel but I believe its good to connect with people better if they know a lil bit about you..Maybe someone will read this & get inspired to do the same & not give up on anything your passionate about.
**I'm not sure if your able to post music of your work besides Soundcloud but if not moderators feel free and I'll remove my Mixtape link above.
Other then that I appreciate the helpful information on deck & thanks for reading. Back to this portable beast!
