The journey so far...
I've had this thing for a day and literally have spent from 5am this morning until 7pm tonight on this thing. The menu system seems really intuitive to me and I already find myself flying through the screens. For example, thank you inflict3 for sharing your chopping method. The work flow so far seems such a natural fit for me. I have soooo much more to learn, but for one exhaustive day with the time spent thus far, I am very happy with my level of understanding. :)

I love the the extreme portabiltily of my new system, 500, flash cards, headphones, and Note2... BAM! I can't wait 'til I get really good with this thing! Might be my favorite piece of kit that I have ever had the opportunity to create with as it has made quite the lasting first impression, on me anyway. THank you, thank you, thank you, to everybody who feels so strong about this little beast as ya'lls influential input put it over the top for me which made me want to get one, and then I had the opportunity to snatch it up. whooo hooo

I find it interesting that the akaipro.com site under features only list that it has a low pass filter, and so I thought it only had a low pass filter, but much to my surprise after diving into the awesome level and depth of editing I found out that not only does it have a lowpass filter, it also has a band pass and hi pass. I am very happy :)

On another note, for me, note on all the way. That's just how I like and prefer to program when playing chops.

Question:
What's the easiest way to copy a sequence? For some reason I haven't been able to figure that one yet lol
For my DAW, I use Sutdio One. What's the best way to track out?

to copy a sequence, pres the sequence button, just to make sure u are in sequencer mode, then press the params button, thats where u can change it from a 2 bar loop to more, keep scrolling over and u will see a copy to seq 2 or whatever the next seq is, its in the params menu, now say if u made a 2 bar seq and u change it to a 4 bar and u wanna copy those first 2 bars to the new bars that is in seq edit mode, mode + pad10….. glad u are loving it man, it is really a fun machine,. and yes, the way i chop feels most natural to me, especially cause i get hella blazed when making beats so its gotta flow just right, when i use to copy the same sample across all the pads and chop like others do i would constantly forget what chop i was on and keep having to leave trim view, or scroll to the previous sample….

Unfortunately, I have never had the opportunity to mess with a 3000. :(
This is my first hardware MPC ever, coming from a mix os Fruity, Reason, Cool Edit, and Acid, then MV8800, then Maschine, copped a Ren and that was my current mode of operation, and now the MASSIVE (little) 500 :-D
REally loving the hardware

Well, the Ren is definitely an MPC experience. :-D

The 500 was my first MPC because of the years of hype I heard about them. So I say why not on the little one. Day one to Day seventy-nine, I hated it. Take RZA and the MV out those videos and put me with the 500 and its the same story. I couldn't even make a beat with it.

Anyhoo, its all user error. Hardware devices are like mazes that you gotta figure. Once you know the path, you'll begin to run full speed from A to B getting that cheese you dirty rat.
