mpc 500 note repeat button transmits midi note

Hi i did a cursory search on this but couldnt find anything ..
anyways so im using my mpc500 as my master controller for : proteus 2k-->tx81z--->es-1 . and im having a strange issue where when ever i hold down the note repeat button (without touching any of the pads ) its sends out a midi note , it does this whether or not ive latched on the note repeat and like i said even with out me even touching the pads . I read the manual and googled it but couldnt find anything about this .. anyone had this problem before ? thanks in advance -

i just tried this and my note repeat button dosen't send midi messages.

you should try to confirm that it really does send a midi note by connecting it to a computer with midi-ox.

to me it sounds like either you are crazy, or you have a really old OS version with a bug.


since i can't help you if you are crazy, i will assume an OS bug:
i have OS version 1.31 and this bug dosen't affect me.

check you OS version like this: mode: PAD8 >scroll right< and it will read VERSION followed by you os version. if it is anything other than 1.31 then you should upgrade.
