projects on the CF get overwritting.

yesterday i had a bit of a weird thing happen. i saved a new project onto a cf card and found that it had overwritten the last project i saved. the other project still had its original name but had the contents of the newer project.

luckily they were both simple beats that i managed to recreate from memory.

untill i find the reason this happend i'm saving every project to a separate CF card( i have a load.)

has anybody else had this happen?

i was using the mpc500 to sequencer external gear and didn't have any samples in the internal memory, that seems like something that could easily slip through testing at akai.

The problem is the 'all' file. Although you can put many projects in the same folder, it overwrites the ALL file. Best approach is a new folder for each project.

actualy i was suspecting that it was overwriting the .all file, but it seems like a crazy thing to do. thankfully up till now i had just been saving sequences and programs separately.
