switching layers via Q-link

Hello in the manual it says you can switch between different layers via the Q-link. has anyone figured this out. I am trying to get the mpc to work like Battery 3 or DFH superior where each time you hit the pad a different sample is triggered. Not by using velocity. It just cycles thru different samples. I was wondering if this is possible in the mpc500?

where qlink position decides sample?

if so, i hope you figure it out. i'm pretty sure you could do this on the 500, esp since it's so compatable w/ the other mpcs. it's an awesome feature and i use it a lot. good luck.

yeah like if i have different versions of a snare drum and I want the mpc to cycle thru them on each hit. Thats what i wanna do.

I think cat wants it so that each time he hits, say, pad 1, it does a different snare [cycling through a bunch with each hit]
