best thing to do is just put in the work and learn it yourself. contrary to some peoples opinions i dont think its a good first or beginners mpc, cause the small screen with all those menus makes it more complicated navigate than the other models that display a bunch of different functions on the screen at any given time, but im sure once u put in the work it'll all make sense, its like learning anything new, gotta pass a learning curve

People make the mistake of making a correlation between price and it being for beginers. The menu system is too wacky and if you werent already firmiliar with these types of machines and how to get around on an mpc you'd be totally lost and frustrated and probably end up selling it and switching to a competitor and have a screwed up idea of what MPC's are. This should be your companion MPC, your mpc's little brother.

The 1000 would make a better beginer mpc, its only $200 more anyway. If you cant afford $999 for a 1000, you probably cant afford $799 for a 500. I know $799 would have been way out of my leauge when I was 16 years old and was dreaming about some equipment like this.

well i had the 2kxl for 6 yrs but sold it to my boy (he does a dual mpc set when he does shows) i mainly use ableton live 6 with a korg pad kontrol, but i wanted it to load drum samples alredy with fx put on it with ableton, then load loops constructed there or chop up loops i put together on ableton and the reconstruct em on there cuz itll be dope to fix it up more while chillin at my pops gas station when he's workin after i get out of school(instead of bringing the laptop).
