Just wondering

hey i was just wondering if there was any way of putting a sample out of tune but keeping it at the same time as the original because when i use the 12 level tone feature the lower pads are more drawn out and the top pads are faster??

Also when i record samples onto the drum machine via stereo the samples are fairly quiter than the kits e.t.c that came on the memory card? Is there something im missing? i have the rec. gain volume up as well as the master as well as the cd player? Can the volume of samples from the computer be altered as well?

question 2: if you are missing something, then i'm missing something. I think the record in knob is only there for decoration.

I don't understand this. What do you mean?

no you cannot change the tone without changing the tempo on an MPC.

Are you making sure that the sample you are recording gets close to full level (the right side) on the level display/meter when recording?

You could also use the normalize function to get your samples to peak at 0db (full level), but best to get it as close to full level first anyway when recording the sample.

You might also find that the level for each sample in the supplied kits is set to 100 in the Program Mode-Sample Level, rather than the default level of 70 that you might be using in your programs.
