anyone know where to get one?

radio shack sucks, and it doesn't seem like anyone has these in stock online yet. i have a bunch of power adapters but none of em fit in the 500

they are all too big

i'm gonna get a radio shack one i think to hold me over, then i can keep it as a backup once i find a good one...

make sure to bring the 500 with you and radio shack can match you up with the proper ac adapter.

yup, did that. all the radio shack employees wanted to get their grubby hands on it. i kept it mostly in my bag and they kept guessing what it was ;) they didn't get it right though, although one of them said "midi"

and then i totally pwned on the of employees about his own product. man i hate that place

no of course the guy didn't. yup, ebay can suck. i sell on ebay and i'm trying to do it right, point out any flaws. but i might have just been his packing job, too. it was one of the worst i have seen. i have been a part of dozens and dozens of ebay transactions, and this was the 2nd worst packing job i have seen (the worst was a broken ADAT that was purchased as broken)

he has offered to send back $20 towards the repairs, which i quoted to him at $40. no big deal. except i found a brand new one for the same price. oh well...

cool, where did you get the brand new power supply from? in case some of us might be unfortunate enough to have to need a new one? I know they sweet water sells replacement power adaptors for MPD 16's and such.

Ugh.... I would never buy one of those Universal Power Adaptors for my 500. The tips never fit and if you dont have the Voltage or Amperage set exactly you will fry your shit. If I couldnt by a real Akai power adaptor made for the 500, I'd just use batteries ONLY (which im doing now anyway).

If you look at the MPC 500's Adapter it isnt made by Akai anyway its Generic with Class 2 Power supply written on it
model u120060d30
input:120VAC 60hz 21.6w
Output:12VDC 600mA

Was even made in China! lol
