Programs and Samples for the MPC-500?

yo i just got my first drum machine the mpc 500, what programs is best to use with it if any or what do you guys use? i have a mac computer. also where can i get some samples??

i suggest using finder. that is the best program for transferring information to and from the MPC500


oh yeah and samples: records! or drum machines, i'm sure you can download free ones you find with google

Protools is a good multitrack audio/MIDI program, but probably way overkill for just manipulating samples for an MPC, and probably too complex for just this task if you don't already know how to use it.

You also need to buy Digidesign or M-Audio hardware to use Protools. Plus if you buy M-Audio hardware, you have to buy Protools M-Powered seperately, Digidesign hardware comes with Protools.

You are probably better off using a more simple stereo editing program, something free like Audacity, or something commercial like Wavelab (I'm not really up on the latest commercial stereo editing software, so there is probably many alternatives), to begin with.
