how is that bluebox working with the mpc500?

since it's made for the mpc1000 the pad layout should be a
bit different.

what pads shouldn't be mapped in the blue box program if I want it to work with the mpc500?

Don't map pad bank D. The last four pads of bank A get pushed to the first four of bank B and so on, so that pad bank D on the 500 is actually the last 12 pads of Bank C in Bluebox.
