Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500
By Artman Mon Mar 19, 2007 11:22 pm
I bought prosessions jimmy chamberlin drums and the cd has two files a wav file and all.rx2 files I tried to load both into my folder on my mp the wav files says it is an incorrect file and the all.rx2 file seems to not even be recognized. So now I have to slide my wav file to garageband and sample it. I just thought I could load it right in and roll. Anyone familiar with this?

The mpc 500 can read the following files:
MPC1000: SEQ, WAV, PGM
MPC2000/2000XL: SEQ, WAV, SND, PGM (Most parameters of PGM file can be loaded.)
MPC2500: SEQ, WAV, PGM
MPC4000: SEQ, WAV, PGM (DRUM program only. Only note assign and tune are loaded.)
MPC3000: SND (THRU Computer)
Z4/Z8: WAV, PGM (DRUM program only. Only note assign and tune are loaded.)
S5000/6000: WAV only (THRU Computer

If the .wav files are 16 bit and 44.1khz your mpc should have np wit reading them.

To answer your question, yes it can.

Drag and drop the wav files to your mpc via USB to a folder.

Drag and drop the wav files to your mpc via midi to a folder.

You cannot use MIDI to manipulate wav files.
