Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hi Every One,
The manual for the Mpc 500 says that you can select tracks from 1 to 48 by holding down the numeric button, and typing in the number of the track you want to select using the pads. However, this is not working. It works for selecting sequences, just not for tracks. I would really like this to work, since it seems easier to hold the numeric key and type in for example pad 2, then pad 3 to select track B 11 in stead of using the data entry encoder. Please let me know if I am doing any thing wrong. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have to try this, I must have missed it in the manual...

I guess it would only work if the cursor is on the "track" field?

You are right about the fact that it isn't working, but I can't find it in the manual either!!!

Which page of the manual is it on?

I concur with this also. In the manual, page 22, it clearly states...

I have tried this and cannot change track by this method.

I feel another email to Akai coming on ;)

Hi Guys, Thanks a lot for your replies. Glad to know it's not my mpc that's defective.
