Hi there.

Some of us seem to have the bug where replacing (overwriting) files corrupts the files sometimes (and pretty often, like one in five times or so). I have been thinking quite a bit about this, since some people seem to have it, pretty reproducible, and some doesn't.

So, well, I decided to test to reformat my CF card to Fat16 (was Fat32 before). All of a sudden, I wasn't able to corrupt files by replacing them anymore. Of course, it's a bit early to tell, (and also, you can never really test that something won't happen ever by repeated tests) but yesterday, I saved a complete project to the same location, with replace on, like 50 times without getting any corrupted files, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to do that before...

Anybody else with replace/new folder hang problems care to test?

Also, those of you who don't have any trouble, can you check weather the CF card uses Fat16 or Fat32?

I formated my 2GB CF card with the MPC500, I haven't had problems yet.

I use my Macbook to backup the contents of the CF card.

I'm not sure but I thought the MPC500 formats the card FAT32.

And, all of a sudden, it seems I can't reproduce the problem om FAT32 either. Wonder if Akai fixed something in the updates that's not in the update description, or if the OS update/Reload somehow fixed anything. Very, very strange...
