Syncing 2 MPC500's together

MPC Headz. Can anyone please help me? I want to perform live dj sets, but with 2 MPC 500s and a DJ mixer instead of 2 turntables/CD decks.
My idea is to run loops, breaks, sections of songs on my MPCs while using a DJ mixer with inbuilt fx to add dynamics and flavour.

However can I sync 2 MPC 500's together with either midi or something else? So when I press play on the master it also starts the slave.

I know what i want to do but i just don't know if it can be done with either the mpc1000 or mpc500.

Any help would be muchos appreciatos

Mode + pad 7 , set sync to master on one, and slave on the other, and don't forget midi cables
