Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hey!

just got a mpc500, and am slightly confused, is there any global settings to programs, vollume/level and velocity would be really nice to do global to all pads. I had a S2000 and there you could make a performace or what they called it, where you could mix levels .etc

And is there a way to copy a pads setting to another, to do this would make it easier to make diffrent versions of sound, pitch and filtering etc... and make that very fast.

Also, is there a short cut to lay up a sample cromatic, if i have a bass nad not wanna edit 12pads, can i make this easier somehow, i want to make stuff fast, and make it sound bad... and with artifacts...

And, Looping, i set loop parameters in trim, and mapp that sample in a progrmam, it dont loop there, what do i make wrong..

Hope i dont have unreal hopes for this machine, just wanna make some music, have no problems with havving limitations, just stupid ones.... i use the Elektron monomachine, wich i guess made me want tools that i can do things really fast with...

No, I'm afraid not. The MPC500 has no mixer

>And is there a way to copy a pads setting to another

Another no, you can only copy whole programs

>Also, is there a short cut to lay up a sample cromatic

Hit the 12levels button, and chose tune (this wont be part of the program though)

>And, Looping, i set loop parameters in trim,

It's working for me, you could read the manual on trim mode (again).

> I use the Elektron monomachine

Elektron Machinedrum seems a cool box, I haven't found the funds to buy one yet. I recently bought the MPC500 because I was curious about the 'MPC' hype.

So far I like it, it isn't as featured as my other hardware sequencers (Yamaha RM1x and RS7000) but it makes up for it in weight and portability and some times less is more ;)

I think the MPC500 could be a great sequencer to control the Elektron monomachine and add some nice sampled drums.

you read my mind. the features you listed would be great if they existed
