can you do this with the mpc500

can you make and finish a track with NO software?im tryna make rap tracks.

i dont think theres any point of getting reason right?because i cant afford it anyways.

if you cant,is any free software that helps you finish it and can you use it like a midi controller and record it into the computer (using a laptop)

okay gotta lil more info now i want to get audacity and just record from the mpc500.

i dont have those input thingys so how would i hook it up with my laptop?

i saw on youtube this man said i need a "lead" what is that when i go to a store should i say that?

you can make a whole song, but it wont be mastered very well unless you get it perfect on your mpc. you gota record it from the main on your 500 then assign it to a pad and when you connect your mpc to your computer the song will show up under one of your samples. be sure to name it so you can find it though.
