Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Just wanted to know if anyone else did this. Since I don't want to connect from the 500 to my MacBook via Midi and audio outs, what if I Track muted and resampled the main outs for each indivual track and then just drag from my card to my MacBook?

This would then eliminate lining up all the tracks in logic afterward since they will all be the length of the sequence.

Has anyone tried this? I'm going to do it tonight, I just though of this while I was on the train going to work.

I'd think this approach is much harder than tracking out with MIDI sync. I'm not sure (haven't tried), but I think you would have problems with synchronizing the different tracks.

I'm also pretty sure it'd take longer to resample each track, save it, and then transfer to the computer. Another thing I'd worry about is running out of RAM.

Syncing with logic would definately be easier. It was a pain in the ass at first to sync with logic pro, but once you get it, and set the correct ms offset (mine was +18 milliseconds) it works perfectly, especially with multiple outputs, it couldn't be easier

True, but we only have stereo outs on the 500, and I would like to keep my tracks stereo and not mono left mono right.

I'm going to try this tonight, I have I have some luck.

Thanks,
