i just got my 500, brand new out of the box. i tried loading ALL of the default samples and i've gotten about half loaded, now it says "INSUFFICIENT MEMORY!!!". how can it not have enough memory and i just bought it and it's new!??

(is there a way to set the MPC back to it's original state, like the way it was before I started loading the ones I already did? I haven't deleted anything? There is a "Format" option, but doesn't that delete everything?)

Do you mean you're trying to load all samples of the included 32 MB CF card? And your MPC500 has 16 MB RAM memory?

Even worse, the MPC500 comes with a 128MB card full of samples and a stock MPC500 only has 16MB RAM so you can't load everything at once.

Consider getting the 128MB RAM upgrade!

Yes, but not the one from Akai. Get a 256 MB one from Kingston for example. They're much cheaper. You can read all about this on this forum.
