MPC500 Not Reading CF Card?

I am trying to assign sample/wav to pad.
1-Power on MPC
2-Press Mode button, select Pad6 (Program)
3-Data wheel to the right

Sample assign A
A1:L1: (Here is where I move the cursor to jog through available sounds on the CF card, but nothing is showing up)

Using the MPC500 sound library CF which came with the MPC500 and a blank cf with kick, snare, and hh.

Has this happened to anyone else? Am I doing something wrong here?

You must load the samples in Load mode first (pad 2).
