Can MPC500 read/send SYSEX messages ?

I planning to buy an MPC (500 or 1000). I have an expander to which I want to send some configuration data as SYSEX messages (that can be embedded in a midi file).

Will it be possible to load such a midi file with the sysex messages in the MPC500 and send it to my expander through midi out in order ton configure it for each song ?

Does someon have tested it ?

As far as I know a MPC won't load standard midi files (mid/smf).
