hey, im having some problems with my mpc 500 and REALLY hope someone out here can help me since the akai "pro" support people couldnt do a damn thing for me...
anyway, heres the issue: it a nutshell, my mpc sometimes triggers the wrong samples after i record a sequence and play it back. it doesnt happen to every sample and the problem doesnt exist in every program i create and use... but it happens enough that i am almost ready to give up and get a different drum machine.
heres an example of the problem- lets say i program a pattern with a snare on the 2nd beat ... when i press the pad it plays the snare as it should, so i can play the pads and hear it the way i want to program it... but after i record the sequence and it starts playing back automatically, it will play back a different sound, such as a crash for example, always something from the same program, but not what i want to hear.
this happens across a couple of my programs, but NOT all programs... i cant seem to find anything that these programs have in common aside from the fact that they were programmed using bluebox on a pc.
i tried using a friend's mpc500 to try and figure out if the machine was bugged or if it was just my card(s) but i have the same issues on both 500s.
i have tried 2 memory cards with the same programs in both (a sandisk ultraII 2gb card as well as the stock 128mb cf card that is included) but i have the same issues.
not sure if anyone else has experienced this but either way, ANY insight on how to resolve or work around this would be much appreciated.
THANKS!
