Editing Recorded Samples

I dont know if 'editing' is the right word but here's my problem:
Sometimes my recordings like snares are a bit off.. the sound comes like half a second after i press the pad. How can i fix this?

I've got reason 3.0 software but do i connect it to my c via USB. Or just my audio in/outputs in the pc?

Hope someone can help me out here.

MPC-500, 128MB software 1.11
Pc, windows xp, reason 3 (dont know about soundcard)

Go into trim mode and set the start point at the start of the sample!
