EXM-128 memory chip

Is the EXM-128 memory a generic chip that can be purchased from a place like Crucial? Or, is it Akai Hardware Proprietary, meaning a chip that they made specific to this model?

I own a MPC-60 II. I'm thinking about getting one so I can work while on the bus, train, plane, in the bathroom taking a smash, lunch-break at work, in between chruch services, etc...

I think mine was a kingston brand model-> KVR133X64C3

You can go to any store that sells flash cards, such as radioshack, eckeards, riteaid walgreens for 20$ or so, does the same exact job and adds more memory for sample i just did it, works great...

Akai, just wants to get more money....
