mpc 500 pitch shifting

Hey guys! Can u tell me if there is a pitch shiifting function on the mpc 500? I've looked through the manual, but it's not there. Is there some other way i could change pitch without changing time of a sample? Thankz!

You can do this in trim mode. It is placed last in the edit sektion.

nah man, if u mean if u could change the pitch without making it go faster or slower...i dont think thats possible in mpc's. unless im wrong (hopefully i am wrong and someone givs me proof)

Sorry, my bad. There's no pitch shifting mode on the mpc-500. I read it as time stretch (brain bombs!).
If you are hard core, you could timestretch somthing and then pitch it to the rigt pitch vs lenght!

Simple example:

If you time strech something from 200 bpm to 100 bpm and then pitch this sample 12 semi tones up, it fits the rest! It is just a matter of math! It can be done.

Explanation is comming up later.

If you want to pitchshift, you have to make shure that the sample is just as long as the sequence when you pitch it.

The pitch (to the left) is set in program mode
The original tempo (in the middle) is set in time strech mode
The destination (to the right) is also set in time stretch mode

For Math's noobs :

Your Wished Tempo / (divided by) Origin Temp x (multiplied by) 100
Then report to the stuff made by eimer.

Need an exemple ?

Wished Tempo : 90
Origin Tempo : 95

90/95 = 0.9473.... x 100 = 94.73

Then search the nearest tempo in "destin tempo" of the eimer's stuff. Here it's 94.4, and the pitch related is : +1.

I know there's some guys that wouldn't ask the way to calculate this...
