Just the other day i was sampling 4 short parts of a record at 45 rpm, sped them up even more in the mpc and then pitched them down, to get that lofi sound (works even better on the 500 than on my previous 2000 and 2000xl). I've found that it turns out real nice sometimes, but it seems like its a random thing. At first I figured it was just that some records suited better for it, but now instead of chopping one sample up when i sampled 4 parts, all 4 sounded slightly different from eachother, the first one got a real nice lofi crisp to it, while the other ones where more or less muffled! not that they sounded bad, but not as perfect as the first one. Is this the mpc or is it just that the needle landed differently on the record each time?
