Mpc500 with drum pads

I want to use the sounds in my mpc500 but trigger them off with a roland octapad2 as i am a live drummer and i want to hit a big drum pad rather than my pretty new toy. Any ideas how to link it all up. Am i doing midi out from roland to midi in on mpc?? Please help.

You got it, did you try it?
You have to make sure you have the correct MIDI note numbers, so when you hit the pad it triggers what you want.
