MPC500 Defaults all tracks to "USED" status

Hola,

I just purchased a 500 to incorporate with my 2500.

I have the latest software updates on both machines.

Yet, when I set a program on a track, the program is

set on all concurrent tracks, which is not much of a problem for me;

it is the fact that all "Unused" tracks loose the "Unused" status, and

appear as if they have data on them. Moreover, when I load the

program into the 2500, the tracks also appear used.

I can no longer easily determine which tracks have data on them.

Any info is appreciated!!

I update this old topic because I have the same issue, if I start my mpc with autoload off all tracks are numbered and not marked (unused), while if i load with the autoload (the def one) all unused track are labeled "unused".
I tried factory reset and re-flashed the 1.31 firmware but problem stays..

Anyone knows how to deal with this? When I go over 4-5 tracks I never remember which one are used and which are not..

Yep this is a good solution, but is the unused status disappearing normal/supposed to happen?

*shrug* not sure, and I haven't had an MPC 500 in well over a year now. I just name my tracks out of habit, so it was not something I ever noticed.

I did some other tests and this is really driving me crazy.
If I start with autoload and add a track to an existing sequence all the rest of the tracks stay unused, if i add a track to a new sequence all the tracks loose the unused status..
Looks like just a big bug to me...
