Some tips:

In Trim mode, detune the sample to -12, then hit one of the pads as fast as you can while adjusting the start time. When you can't hear any air before the sound, you just trimmed it nice and tight. Then retune your sample.

If you're chopping a break or instrumental part, find the tempo of that first, then do what I said in the first trick to get all of your chops tight, then play them in the original tempo that you found.

If you're chopping something that was played out of time (by a little bit) you can always adjust one of the chops like +/- .5 in tuning to adjust the speed without **** with the tuning too much.

Just keep **** with it, you'll get better

I prefer to hookup my samples in sf as well.

I had to chop some stuff up once minus Recycle, Soundforge, and it wasn't so bad. Got the job done quite nicely to be honest. Just took a bit longer.

take for example a 2 bar loop and divide the number of your endpoint to the number of parts you want, hard for me to explain, my englisch aint that good. trim start = 0, trim end = 69200, you want 16 parts, divide 69200/16=4325, now go on and make your first chop 0 to 4325, second 4325 to 8650 an so on, you got your 16 chops in bout 10minutes, it isnt that accurate than it will if you chop them by ear, but its okay if you dont want to spent hours on chopping
