Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

sup rhythmprofessaz,

when i hit status i get wav:63% sq:93%

the wav: sounds right cuz i put 30 samples on the flash card.

i guess the sq: is the internal RAM (16mb)..but there are no saved sequences on my 500, i deleted everything i did so far by not saving it before i switched it off. So why is 93% used? Did they use up all the internal sequencer memory with their 4 demos? Surely not!

thanks for any response

Your reading it reverse....so its telling you you have 93 percent left for sequences and 63 percent left for samples

Hi,

wav: 63% means you have 63% free RAM memory available in your MPC (not on the Compact Flash Card).

sq: 93% means you have 93% sequencer memory left, this is where the midi notes (sequences) are stored.

The demos are stored in an extra 5MB flash memory inside the MPC, you can overwrite them from the save menu.

93 percent is FREE not used, so your have 7 percent used and 93 percent free, and that could be to having autoload load a program on boot......
