error message fast memory test : memory ok

i started up my mpc 500 today and the "mpc 500 startup" screen came on and then it started flickering and went off and all i saw was a blue backlit screen,

so i turned it off and turned it back on and the startup screen started flickering again, then it came to a screen taht said fast memory test
pass: memory ok and it stayed on that screen for about ten seconds and it proceded to load up as usual and went to the akai, 128 mb screen and then it faded out to blue again.

has this ever happened to anyone? do you think the harddrive inside it crashed?

im gona call akai tomarow but i was wonderingn in the meantime if any of you guys have ever experienced this!

ive never had a problem with my 500 at all until now! it really sucks!

I have tried this, but it was with the ram upgrade. The first time it starts with the new ram it searc for any errors.

it was a problem with my power cable, the original one broke so i bought one of those universal ones that comes with like 10 different heads, and they had to be connected correctly so the plus and minus lined up, but one of my friends was borrowning it for a night, so i think it got messed up then, i switched up the polarity and now it works fine!

i think it was giving me that error message because my batteries were really low and it was trying to save my program or something.
