I read a post about getting nice high sample levels and I'd love to re-read it..anyone know a link?
Sorry to post a similar theme but...
I normalise drum sounds to 0db in Wavelab and load 'em on the 500. In 'load' I hit 'play' to preview and the level sounds nice (like the demo samples)....but then play the pad and the volume is roughly halved. Even when I roll the sample volume up from '70' to '100' it's no way near the volume of the preview when I hit 'play'. At first I thought it must be another sample setting that I hadn't switched (like changing the volume from 70 to 100) but it's not, I tried.
Does anyone normalise more than 0db? ..or know any tricks to loud sounds?
I'm a bit obsessed by this because I used to use cassette and needed loud sounds to cover the hiss! I know there's no hiss to cover but it helps to have a standard method to get everything loud-ish and normalising to 0db on my laptop isn't doing it for me.
Thx
Tex
