wondering would an MPC 500 add to my set up??

i currently have a microkorg, and electribe emx and an sp-404.

i use the 404 for sampling and sequencing but it gets awkward because it has sequencing limitations. i currently have my electribe controlling my micron and i sample patterns/sounds directly into the 404 where i chop them up and add FX and stuff.

now i record directly to cassette tape on my hi-fi and then later when i have a full tape of beats i wil record a few onto my laptop using my crappy sound blaster card.

i just have a few problems with my set up.

although im going for quite a lo-fi sound i still like to alter the lows, mids and highs of my individual sounds. unfortunately the ability to do this is an effect on the 404 and i have to resample my sound to another pad when i have done this which gets quite annoying as it degrades the sound quality some bit.

can i alter the values for lows, mids and highs on the MPC 500 and also can i alter the individual volume of the sample?? (this is impossible on the 404 and has to be achieved by using another effect)

ive obviously heard complaints about the 500 and that's what initially put me off buying one. is the OS really that buggy??

i don't care about portability or having no wave form for chopping.

would the 500 suit my needs??

one more question. does the 500 have timestretch and if so how good is it??

The MPC 500 has timestretch and it does the job...
