Can I alter the volume of the metronome on the 500? Its way to loud.

No, best way is to use step edit and add some high hats at 1/16 or 1/8 or whatever and that way you can edit the volume. Good luck!

Agreed. Use a cleanly chopped hat or tick or something, hold note repeat on 1/8ths, lay it down, then adjust volume and tempo to fit your needs.
