assigning each pad a different pitch for one sample

is it possible to assign each pad a different pitch/note to one sample. like a different pitch/note per pad for a bass sample?

my mpc500 is coming tomorro and i can't wait.

hit the desired pad... hit 12 notes, and change velo to pitch.. th pitch is also adjustable

Alternatively, assign the same sample to each pad and change the tuning in the program edit.
