WHAT????

i bought a new cf card and i formatted it. when i try to load samples from my 500, nothing shows up. is there any way to reset this? what if i exchange this cf card for another one, will they still be gone?

ok, in the back of the manual it says to hole "Erase/Undo" while turning the 500 on.

i did that and all 4 factory programs are back, BUT....when i go to load anything, "Mode, Pad2", NOTHING is there. should i just exchange this CF card for another one?

Dude I got the same CF card you got but the 2GB but Im still using my card that I got from them being that its only my 3rd day having my MPC500... I had plenty of people and a Akai sales rep tell me it works just fine so it should be good dude...

like, when i go to load either a program, sequence, sample, nothing is there.....nothing. but, when i put in the original akai 128mb cf card that akai gave me, they are all still there....just not on my new 1gb sandisk card.

Try to format the card on the mpc, and then go back on the pc and copy your files again.

This may seem like a dumb question, or not... have you loaded any sounds on the new cf card?

If thats not it then it could be the sounds you did put on the new cf are set at the wrong sample rate or bit rate, make sure you only have 16 bit wav, 44,1000Hz samples on your card, even then sometimes the samples can be corrupt so try loading different samples on the card and see if it's just the samples that are bad. It's probably unlikely the CF is bad being they are pretty much meticulously made by the same cookie cutter assembly line and usually tested I'd imagine before being packaged.
