Battery VS AC adapter

Quick Question, If the AC adapter is plugged in on the 500, does it disregard the batteries in there? I'm just concerned that the MPC is using some of my battery power when I have the Ac hooked up. I know the quick solution is take batteries out, but it would be convenient to just leave um in there at all times.

Naw the manuel states some where that it will not use the batteries if the AC is plugged in.

akai needs to make a **** built in battery for the 500 so that you can just plug in the ac and charge the battery like the nintendo ds and sony psp.

really, thats the WHOLE point of ANY power cord, is so that it won't eat up the battery life of the machine your using, (Laptop, MPC, etc.).

what i do is get one of those rechargeable battery things so i keep the same batteries on rotation. use 6, charge'em up while i get 6 new ones. when those run down, get those 1st six back and put those other 6 on the charger. RAYOVAC seems to last the longest, so those are the batteries i use.

what i'm saying is you should be able to charge the batteries in the mpc500 by just plugging in the a/c chord so you wouldn't have to keep taking the batteries out and charging them all the time
