PLAYING LIVE/RECORDING MULTISEQUENCE+EXTENDED MEASURES

I can only make beats within measures I selected on PARAM.
But u see in web, people play/record with MPC500, starting with intro, drum kicks in, sample kicks in, then move to PART II, then come back, and solo, etcs.

How to do that!?
mines drum, sample, bass, and solo all together repeating in 4 measures!!!! im gettin bored
how to extend my work?
and when saved, are they all connected?

Here's how the MPC500 is organised:

- A song is a list of sequences
- Each sequence has 48 tracks and a specified length of x bars
- Each track uses 1 program
- Each program has 48 pads

So try copying your sequence (choose param in sequence mode and go to the copy action, select a source and destination sequence) and alter the copy of your sequence by overdubbing or re-recording sertain tracks (tempo and trackmutes are also stored per sequence).

For saving your work I suggest you choose to save the whole project (to a new folder), consult the manual for more details.

In addition to what Snerg said:

You can use the Song mode to construct your arrangement from the number of different sequences.

There's a track mute option, that you can use to experiment with your basic loop by dropping some parts and them switching them on again to see what works and what's not, before you edit your sequence and start deleting parts.

MPC-Tutor recommends in his e-books to make shorter sequences, instead of recording everything in one long one. It will make it easier to edit your song.

To save a project, press Mode -> Pad 3 -> scroll to "Save entire memory" in the upper line on the screen -> then choose "Project" in the bottom line -> choose the folder to save it to and then enter the file name for your project -> press Do It.

When it is saved, I strongly recommend to backup the folder with your project to a HD on your PC/laptop via USB or card-reader (in case CF card gets corrupted or suffer a data loss).

To load a project file press Mode -> pad 2 -> choose Project in the upper line on the screen and then browse to the project's folder in the bottom line -> Do It.
