Mpc 500 Oneshot problems

has anyone else has this problem?

while trying to trigger the mpc 500 from an external midi keyboard, it will not play samples oneshot style.

even when you select one shot, although it does one shot if you press the actual pad on the mpc, but will only the sample "note on" style from the external keyboard (even thought one shot is selected)

im trying to use the mpc as to hold and play custom drum sounds
