can you load up samples from a turntable to the MPC 500? I am a beginner and am in dear need of help.

1. Connect turntable to a DJ-mixer or an amplifier.
2. Connect a DJ-mixer's (amplifier's) audio-outs to audio-ins of your MPC.
3. Connect MPC's audio-outs to your loud-speakers (or plug headphones into phones jack of your MPC).
Now you can listen to the sound which goes through MPC and you can sample it.
Alternatively, you can record everything into an audio editing software (in step 3 connect your mixer or amplifier into audio interface audio-ins, then) on your PC/Mac, chop it there as you please (it is indeed easier and simpler) and then load the results up into MPC via USB.
