I need some help please!! CPU Addr (read) PC (883f2d12)!

Hi guys.. .today my MPC 500 crashed while sampling from records - CPU Addr (read) PC (883f2d12) - and I was forced to switch it off.

What does it mean?? I am hoping it is no hardware problem or something like that!
From day first, I'm using a MUTEC DMC-12 SDRAM DIMM (for Akai MPC500-1000-2500) 128MBytes and a 2Gb Dane-Elec CF card...I bought everything at Thomann.de and everything worked fine until today...
what should I do??
I need some suggestion guys!!

Hi, it sounds like there has been an bad connection to the ram. Try checking if the ram block is correct inserted.

Well It worked well untill today, how could the bad connection pop out today??
Anyway I'll try...should I also format teh CF??

ps: another connected Q ---> is it suggested to upgrade to the newest OS version (1.13) or should I stay with 1.11??

Better yet. Update to the 1.30. There's some minor bugs, but it makes the box stable!!!

All right...I'll upgrade to it!
But for the moment, should I format the card too??

1.30 was released July 1st it seems. Surprised no one made a note of it around here. Anyway, I'm updating now . . .

It came to me with the 1.30 os : /. I have it sometimes while reading sequence from CF (Kingston 2Gb) to SAMSUNG ram.

I guess someone did make a note of it, but since I read all posts on this site by hitting "new posts" I didn't notice it sitting right in the MPC 500 section.

Yep! Same here, I saw the 1.13 version just today...just because of the crash-freeze!
I feel I save some samples not correctly or something like that, cus it never gave me crashes...
I checked the RAM and formatted the card, I'll upgrade the OS in some minutes...hope I won't have no more probs like that!
How is 1.13 version doin' witcha? More stable and stuff?!

I upgraded from 1.13 to 1.30. Just made a beat and it seems fine. 2 new filter options. Definitely welcome. You have an option to personalize your MPC with your own name now . . .
