REX2MPC: Nice program for MPC users, especially 500 owners

I was curious what MPC-related software might be available for Mac, so I just typed "Akai" into Macupdate. I found a neat program that converts Recycle .REX files to MPC program files. This pretty much eliminates the need for Chop Shop on the MPC 500, and lets me use all my drums and samples from when I was still using Reason on my MPC. Just tried it out with some drums and it seems to work fantastically.

I wish I found this before I rechopped a bunch of old breaks a couple weeks ago

I have downloadet rex2mpc and made a rexfile in recycle, but cant get it to work. Any ideas?

Sorry, i got it to work. I dont know what happened, but after a restart the program runs smoothly!

Blue Box software for PC can convert .AKP files exported from Recycle to the MPC1000/2500/500 pgm format. So rather than saving them as REX, export them as AKP and convert them.

Still I don't trust the sample start points you get when chopping in Recycle. It's good for stretching though.

Thought you guys might like to know that some new Lite versions of the software are now available, offering a drag and drop workflow

uhh I just bought this. Its great except for the most important part (for me anyways): creating an MPC sequence from the rex loop I created. It can't do this?? really??

I exported a midi file, and this didn't work either. It wasn't compatible with the pgm created by rex2mpc/played the wrong sequence... ****.
