Hi

Just wondering if anybody has linked the MPK49 with the MPC5000.
I’m not sure how to go about setting the Q links with my keyboard, as with Reason I downloaded a patch.
Do I have to do this to setup the MPC5000???

Thanks for you help

:D

Hey YEah, I just copped the MPK 49 a couple weeks ago and I am trying to get it all set up but I have been working all the time and have not been able to get everything done! Let me know how it goes for you!

connect the keyboard via Midi to MPC5000

do you want to have the Qlinks of the kboard controlling the Qlinks of the MPC ?? if not, don't bother about them...

I'm not really seeing the problem to be honest...mayby some more explanation on what you are trying to achieve ?

Hi Seiko

Thanks for your reply, what I'm trying to do is use the transport buttons & sliders on the MPK49.
This is so I can use my sliders for snyth patchs, mixer etc.
I've managed to link keyboard via midi, which works fine with note on information but not sure if I'm missing something for assigning sliders & buttons on the MPK49.

Thanks again for you help.

Hi all
I think I'm now getting closer, I've setup as follows:

Midi Wiring Setup

MPK49
Midi out to MPC5000 midi in port 1 (if you try to use USB at the same time it cuts midi off)

MPC5000
Midi out (A) to computer using a midi/usb cable (ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-to-MIDI-Keybo ... 240%3A1308
Midi out (B) to MPK49 in

MPC5000 Midi Settings

Under Midi window I have set as follows:

Active Track Receive Channel: ALL
Soft Thur: AS TRACK
Sequence Change by Program Change: OFF
Pad to Internal Sound: ON

Under Sync window I have set as follows:

Sync In: OFF
Sync Out: A (Master) – Reason 4 Midi Clock & B (Master) MPK49 Midi Clock for Arpeggiator, this only works when MPC is running.
Mode: MIDI CLOCK
Send MMC: ON

MPK49 Midi Settings

GLOBAL: Page 8 – Midi clock EXTERNAL

Reason 4 Settings

I installed ASIO4ALL v2 driver which I found a link on the forum: http://www.asio4all.com which sorted out my Latency problems.

Under Preferences

Audio
Audio Card Driver: ASIO ASIO4ALL v2 selected

Advanced Controls
BUS A – USB Midi Cable
Port – USB Midi Cable

Well this is far as I’ve got, I still can’t get the faders on my MPK49 to control the Q links on my MPC, but I’ll keep on trying but I now have Reason running in time.
I know I’ve probably repeated previous posts but hopefully this helps other MPC/MPK users.
If anybody has any ideas about Q links with MPK please help.

Thanks again

I don't believe you can control the Q Links via midi. They are native to the mpc. The only thing the mpk49 will send out are midi CC messages. These can be recorded to the mpc to control various paramters that the Qlinks might control like cutoff, pan, resonance, attack, decay...actually I think the mpk49 will control the same paramters the Q links control...just using midi CC paramters.
