I don't have a 5k but i think the fundamental issue is your set up. The thing is you cant Bus your sounds from your Triton through the MPC instead you have to use the MPC as a midi sequencer to record the midi notes that you play off your Triton. In effect when you press play the MPC sends this info back to the Trition telling it what to play in sync with the MPC beats.

Ok the simple version is to sync the midi out and the midi in from both the instruments. this will make the 2 instruments play in sync from there individual speakers.

if you want them to play out the same speakers you need a mixer that sums the Triton out put and the MPC output through 1 master gain fader.

The other most common way is to use a DAW that takes all the external inputs and sums them within the software.

lol stay creative.....

If you must role role hard, Run with Protools Why??? only 1 reason and that it that 90% of pro recording studios have it. You don't want to have to bounce your trax a second time when you want to lay down vocals, mix stems or master in a professional studio. The second reason is that you want to hit the pavement running studio time is expensive and if you are expected to produce an album you don't want to consult the engineer for every thing there by more cash for you.

Pro tools runs on the Mbox, It is cool cheap and stable (i don't like the mic preamp) but it dose the trick lol. less is more. If you need help you can hit me up or you can just check youtube for tutorials.

Just so i don't seem like a a total Protools fan boy let me brake it down like this

- Protools 8: recording Audio/Outboard gear
- Fruity loops Studio: Synths
- Renoise: Sample based music
- Reason: total in the box solution (no out board gear)
- Cubase: Midi and large library of plug ins
- Ableton Live 7: live performances

Please note that the gap between all the Applications above are very blurred as all the above are midi sequencers and can record audio.
