MPC 500 won't connect via usb to mac

I just got an mpc 500 and i want to load some new samples onto the memory card. I connected my mpc 500 to my macbook thru usb but nothing shows up anywhere. How do i get my mpc to show up?

if its a 500 you are in the wrong area... this is the 5000 area

can't remember whether the 500 is supposed to show up as soon its connected - but try going to the save option and see if there are any usb options there.
