sammy... the install is super easy..

just uncrew the front portion of the 5k (the screw near the headphone jack and the other screw thats on the opposite end)

then carefully flip the 5k over and youll see 3 screws (all of them are connected to the black face plate thingy)

after you take those off, lift the black face plate off and just place the cd drive in. it will fit in the slot like a NES/Gensis game... no other screws needed besides the one that were already there..

i got all that down- and have installed a NON_AKAI cdrom that works fine- but if i angle the 5k's stand, the drive isn't secure- and may fall out- someone said the akai drive comes with a bracket, and the screw on the bottom of the 5k goes to that bracket- so i may have to rig a bracket in there-

maybe someone would be kind enough to post a picture of the bracket?
