when i record something it sounds different when i play it

I'm trying to record a loop of high hats in a kind of fast repitition and when i hit them on the pad they sound right, but when i play it back it sounds different as if wasn't hitting the pads the same way and the timing is different. Is this normal? Is there something wrong with my mpc?

are you setting your quantize correctly? Do you have a click track going? Is the sample properly trimmed....

Sounds like you might have the auto timing correct (quantize) turned on which is gonna move your hats to the nearest note of the time division it is set on which sounds like you are going for 1/16th note hats or 1/16th triplets

turn timing correct off or choose the time division you want
