MPC MOTIF XS MLAN AND CUBASE 5?

Why have it connected to the motif when you can have better control with it connected via cubase.

Make cubase the master and slave everything else from there...(midi time code works the best w/ your 5k btw).

Plus since you have a couple of pieces of midi gear, are you working with a dedicated midi interface or is it the good 'ole basic midi I/O that comes with your s/c?

I have mlan in my motif so its became my audio and midi interface.
so i conected my mpc to the motif with midi in and out.
and the motif conected thru firewire to cubase.
i use mpc as midi sequenser and motif for sounds...at the and i will track down the mpc files and record the motif ones with the motif xs editor in cubase
i dont know how to use cubase with mpc, but i think i like the quntise and swing of the mpc and if i use cubase as master i will lose that, am i wrong?

On the upper heading of cubase you should see "transport". Once there, go to "sync setup" and you'll see all of your sync options.

ok when i tryed to do the sync for a project i found new problem.

i have audio from mpc to in motif(mlan audio interface function) midi in an out from mpc to motif (mlan midi interface function) and mlan from motif to pc
i have all the settings that i need on the mpc to master cubase and all the settings on cubase to slave midi to mpc.
only problem is on motif midi settings
when the midi in\out is “MLAN” i get the mpc controling the cubase transport, but not the mpc midi playing the motif sound
when i switch to “midi” i get the sound from the motif played by mpx midi but the firewire is off so i dont get midi to the cubase…



anyone can help? please?
